Fountain near Finlyandsky Railway Station in St Petersburg

In 2004, on the initiative of the Governor of St. Petersburg and the Committee on urban planning and architecture, a tender was held for the design of the fountain ensemble on Lenin square. September 22, 2005, the Grand opening of the renovated Lenin square, which occupies a Central place fountain complex.

The complex consists of 20 separate bowls, fountains which are equipped with lighting and music. From the Finland station there are two octagonal bowls and one rectangular. There are eight rectangular bowls on each side. In the center of a large bowl in which the water picture is represented by jets (about five hundred jets) with dynamic four-color illumination and eight cascades. Water paintings and color figures in this bowl resonate with the musical themes. Music for" Singing fountains " was written by St. Petersburg composer Sergey Banevich. The composition, recorded by the Symphony orchestra, consists of 13 parts. Among them - "Leningrad front. Confrontation", "Taming the elements", "Dream Ship".

The opening ceremony of the fountain was attended by the President of the Russian Federation — Vladimir Putin and the Governor of St. Petersburg V. Matvienko. This unique complex "singing fountains became a favorite vacation spot not only for residents of the district, but also for the whole city and guests of St. Petersburg.
