The new version of Leo Tolstoy’s literary epic War and Peace is a co-production between the Weinstein Company and BBC Cymru Wales. The drama was adapted by screenwriter and novelist Andrew Davies, best known for his work on the BBC’s 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice. It stars Lily James, Paul Dano, James Nerton and Gillian Anderson.
It was filmed in Saint Petersburg and also in Latvia and Lithuania. Some of the locations where the most stunning scenes were filmed can be visited in Saint Petersburg on the ‘War and Peace Trail’.
