
2016 has officially been announced as a cross-cultural Year between Russia and Greece.
Due to the fact the cultural life of St.Petersburg is going to be considerably supplemented by several major art exhibitions from Greece. The Hermitage museum has an honour to host an exhibition of one early VI century BC sculpture in March. Citizens and guests of the city will be able to witness one of the cores of the Museum of the Acropolis of Athens.The event promises to be truly unique as the sculpture has been never removed outside Greece before.
'Byzantium through the centuries' is the next great expectation for the visitors of the Hermitage museum. About a hundred items of great historical value are going to be on display of the main 'Greek' large-scale exhibition from June,24 to October,2.
Ancient icons from Greece also will be presented in the museum along with other unique rarities that have never been taken out of the country.
