Equilibrist Rasul Abaarov passed at midnight on a cable stretched between the diverged spans of the Palace Bridge. From the Neva it was separated by a distance of forty meters.
To look at an unusual trick thousands of Petersburgers gathered. After the parts of the bridge were divorce , the floodlights illuminated the rope in the dark sky. Then Abakarov himself appeared. The artiste was afraid of dizziness due to the current below the water (it's easier to go over a stable surface), but he coped with excitement and overcame more than thirty meters in front of the excited audience.
Abakarov's passage was held in honor of the opening of the next season of the show "Singing Bridges".
