The World Travel Awards Europe has named St. Petersburg the best tourist destination in Europe! The age-old traditions of the city, its rich history, and its fantastic tourist potential all contributed to its success. The city beat its rivals in this year's contest, which included Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Venice, Lisbon, Florence, Edinburgh, Istanbul, London, Porto, Berlin and Yorkshire. Together with the winners of the other European travel categories, St Petersburg will take part in the World Travel Awards world final in Morocco on December 12. The World Travel Awards have been granting prizes to the very best organisations and companies in the travel industry for the last 22 years.
