The Central Bank introduced a plastic hundred-ruble note to the World Cup in 2018, which will take place in Russia.
According to the press service of the Central Bank, the circulation of the new banknote will be 20 million.
In the foreground of the front side of the banknote is a boy with a football.
"The artistic composition of the front side of the banknote symbolizes the continuity of generations: the boy dreams of repeating the achievements of great players, such as goalkeeper Lev Yashin, whose name is inscribed in the history of world football," the report said.
On the reverse side there is a flying soccer ball, symbolizing the globe, on which the map of Russia stands out. Also there are published the names of the cities in which the matches of the championship will be held.
It is noted that this is the first polymer banknote issued by the Bank of Russia.
