The city's weather forecaster Alexander Kolesov told on his Facebook page that the Northern Capital had broken the record. Sunday, May 13, was the hottest day of the last spring month in the history of observations. The temperature reached 27.7 °C. For comparison, last year this day was only 10.8 °C.

He maintained the record and on Monday, May 14, by 13:00 thermometers already showed 27.9 °C, whereas the previous maximum was fixed in 2010 and amounted to 27.7 °C.
