An exciting event for all you 'night owls'!On the night of 21st of May from 18.00hrs until 06.00hrs the following morning there will be 'open house' in over 95 of our museums, galleries, libraries and concert halls.
The programme includes specially prepared one day exhibitions, performances, concerts, historical reconstructions, author tours and workshops.
If you want to have an early night, some museums have prepared an evening programme lasting from 18.00hrs to 23.00hrs.
There will be transport, as the Metro will be working round the clock, and buses. The bridges will be opening as normal at this time of year.
This year, 2016, this event will be held with the theme of 'The Very First', so in each exhibition hall, visitors will learn about early discoveries, world records and pioneers of science and art.
There will be 19 new members joining this year's line up.

Under this year's theme - "The Very First", visitors can find out about a variety of subjects. Here are a few examples.
Botanical Museum - the largest, longest living, fastest growing plant.
Naval Museum - distant expeditions and great discoveries.
Military Medical Museum - famous doctors and pioneers of space medicine.
Museum of Urban Sculpture - primitive art.
Museum of the History of Religion - early myths and legends.
Grand Philharmonic Hall - the early Soviet film hits.
Artillery Museum - battle re-enactments.
Museum of Anna Akhmatova in the garden of the Fountain House - Crazy Ship - a commune of artists and poets of the Silver Age.
