In the Apollo Hall of the Winter Palace, you can again see the painting “Flora”, created by Francesco Melzi - “the most educated and sophisticated” student of Leonardo da Vinci.
The exhibit was returned to the museum after restoration, during which the painting acquired its original appearance. Prior to this, the details of the canvas were difficult to distinguish, and the varnish layer distorted the original colors. After removing the excess coverage from the picture, the viewer opened a true palette. The canvas depicts the patroness of plants from ancient mythology Flora, whose image was very popular during the Renaissance.
